APS's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a strategic document that outlines an organisation's commitment to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It's a framework for implementing initiatives that advance reconciliation, often focused on three key pillars: Relationships, Respect, and Opportunities. RAPs are a public declaration of an organisation's commitment to reconciliation, that move beyond ad-hoc activities, providing a structured framework for long-term, sustainable strategies.
Focus Areas:
- Relationships: Building strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Respect: Showing respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and knowledge.
- Opportunities: Creating economic and social opportunities for First Nations peoples.
