We’re already in Week 4, and Year 6 are well and truly in the midst of everything! From new projects to final reflections, the students are keeping busy and making the most of every opportunity in their last term of primary school. The energy in the classroom has been high as students dive into hands-on learning, explore new ideas, and build on their teamwork. Over the past two weeks, students have been:
- Kicking off their Bizarre Bazaar projects with a fantastic excursion to Camberwell Junction, where they explored different product designs, logos and store layouts. Back at school, students formed their groups and began planning what they will design and sell as part of this exciting unit.
- Wrapping up their class novel Sister Heart, which has sparked rich discussion and built new understanding around the Stolen Generations. Students have explored themes of identity, resilience and belonging throughout the text.
- Diving into new Maths concepts, including plotting coordinates on Cartesian planes and comparing positive and negative numbers. These abstract ideas have been made more engaging through hands-on activities and challenges.
- Celebrating their achievements in sport, with all Hot Shots and Volleyball participants doing an incredible job at Division level. A special congratulations to our Volleyball team, who won Division and went on to place 6th at Regionals - an outstanding effort they should be very proud of!
