From the Art Room

Did you get to see the wonderful artwork on display for EXPO?

The Year 3 and 4 students have shown their understanding of sustainability in the construction of these fabulous masks. They looked at several tribal and ceremonial masks of the Torres Strait Islanders and used this inspiration to guide them as they made their own…starting with a plastic milk bottle!

They cut and painted their bottle, then added a range of new and recycled materials to decorate their masks – including wood curls (from the Men’s Shed at St Hilary’s Anglican Church, Kew) and French and Italian lace from a wedding dress maker!
