We are keeping busy in Year 1. Recently we have been:
- Learning to write narratives that include a character, setting, problem and resolution.
- Using adjectives and learning to write compound sentences.
- Working on subtraction and are linking it to what we know about addition.
- Practised counting backwards by 1,2,5 and 10
- Learning about durations of time including seconds, minutes, hours, and days, weeks, months and years
- Learning to spell words using the graphemes e, ee, ea, and y to make a ‘long e’ sound, like in be, see, bean and happy,
- Making inferences using pictures and clues from the text while reading.
