  • Learning how to choose “good fit” books that match their reading level and interests.

Grade Two students have been busy building their skills across all learning areas. They are practising reading with a partner to improve fluency and confidence, while in Maths they are learning efficient ways to count and how to record information using tally marks, as well recognising patterns in numbers and pictures. In writing, students are working on recounts, helping them clearly share events and experiences. We are also focusing on building resilience and persistence, encouraging students to keep trying when tasks feel challenging. By practising self management strategies and developing a growth mindset, students are learning that effort and mistakes are important parts of learning. During library time, they are becoming more independent by choosing “good fit” books that suit their reading level and interests.
