Hard to believe we are nearly halfway into the term. Year 3 have been working on their descriptive writing skills, using the five senses to write creative, imaginative snapshots and turn them into incredible narratives. We have been investigating the different ways a story can be told and are learning all about visual literacy elements. In maths we have been working on the concepts of sharing and grouping and how to work through multiplicative worded problems. Soon we will have completed making our own card games to help teach others to tell the time. For connected learning our imaginations have been running wild, making folded book art, chalk drawings, anamorphic art and more. We were very lucky to have our two Toonworld incursions this week, making our own storyboards, characters and sets to film our own stop motion film.
Our highlights this week have been:
- I enjoyed making Follow Freddy maps
- I liked making instructions and following them to make a pattern
- I liked how we got to use detail to write a snapshot and see how it turned out as an image
- Making our own settings for our stories
- Doing all the creative activities
